At Findly ("we", "our", "us"), accessible from your Shopify store, we are committed to protecting the privacy of merchants and shoppers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and process personal and store data when you install and use our Shopify application.
1. Information We Collect
When you install and interact with Findly, we collect the following types of information:
- Merchant Store Data: Your myshopify.com domain, store email, installed plan tier, and app configuration settings.
- Product & Catalog Data: Product titles, descriptions, tags, prices, variant IDs, vendor, product types, and inventory availability status needed to generate search vector embeddings.
- Storefront Interaction Data: Search queries submitted by store visitors, anonymized session IDs, search-to-cart clicks, layout interaction modes, and search latency.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process collected data solely to provide, maintain, and optimize Findly's services, including:
- Generating relevant product recommendations for store shoppers in real-time.
- Providing merchants with search conversion analytics, click-through rates, and query funnels.
- Keeping your product recommendations updated automatically via webhooks when inventory or products change.
- Enforcing plan subscription query limits.
3. Third-Party Subprocessors
To deliver AI recommendations and infrastructure, Findly integrates with trusted third-party service providers:
- Shopify: Core platform authentication, billing, and store webhooks.
- OpenAI: LLM re-ranking processing for natural language query understanding.
- Pinecone: Vector database hosting for semantic similarity search.
- Neon (PostgreSQL): Secure database hosting for logs and analytics.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain merchant store data and analytics logs for as long as the application remains installed on your store. Upon app uninstallation, catalog index vectors and store configuration data are automatically queued for deletion.
Merchants can request complete data erasure at any time via Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks or by contacting us directly.
5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
Findly fully complies with GDPR, CCPA, and Shopify's privacy principles. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data or customer search logs to third parties or data brokers.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest to safeguard data against unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.
